Box Swing and Shoot Pregame Warm-Up Drill

Use this simple drill with your box and field teams to get your players passing and shooting in the exact same situations they will see when the game starts!

We saw almost every team warming up with this drill at a tournament this weekend. It's so easy, you can use it with youth and high school players too! Get everybody's feet, sticks, and the ball moving rapid fire to be ready for game time!

Combine stick skills with game situations to teach your players how to "Swing" the ball from one side of the floor to the other. Draw the Defense and the Goalie over to one side, then "Swing!" the ball over and attack the other side to open up the net!

This is actually justg a simplified version of this great three step Ground Ball Swing and Shoot Drill that is just easier and faster to do in a shorter amount of time before the game starts.

HERE'S THE DRILL:

Figure 1.) Start  your players in three lines. We usually run this drill with the ball starting on the left side of the floor (when looking out from the Goal or Goalie) so the ball finishes on the right side, since most of our players are right-handed.
