Box 2-on-1 Cross-Over Drill

We see teams all over using this common pregame warm-up drill we got from NLL training camp. We thought it was so great and so simple, if the Pros are doing it, you probably should be too.

The Pros really know how to draw the Defense and move the ball quickly. The big guys were getting a rep in about every 5 seconds. You might need more like 10-15 seconds for youth or beginning players to really work this 2-on-1 to the goal.

Here's THE DRILL:

Put one line of Defenders up top near the center circle, and two lines of Attackers in each corner behind the Goal.

Figure 1.) Red Defender pass to one of the two Attackers down low. He should then get back in front of the Goal to cover the middle of the field. This will teach your players to play Defense "from inside out." Get in between the ball and the goal first. Outside shots don't work very often in Box Lacrosse
